Towards Future Ready Data Center

NetApp, a storage provider confirms its support for multihop director-class Fibre Channel over Ethernet (FCoE) with Cisco's data center switches.
The solution allows customers to build data center fabrics larger network. Customers also will get added value through improved operational speed and efficiency by connecting to a cost-effective FCoE switch.
With the director-class multihop now, consumers are getting fleksibillitas TI to use FCoE in the core of data centers, so that customers can cut costs and improve efficiency in a larger scale.
Cisco Solutions is part of NetApp Ethernet Advantage Program which is a technology partner ecosystem development as well as NetApp's portfolio of solutions that have been tested, validated and supported configurations FCoE.
With NetApp Ethernet Advantage, customers can quickly identify and implement appropriate solutions to data center specifications and needs of their business. This is of course supported by a strong network of innovative technology partner NetApp.
Integration support for FCoE multihop and NetApp Ethernet Advantage program provides more choice and flexibility for customers when migrating to FCoE infrastructure by allowing them to expand relationships with trusted vendors through NetApp's technology partner ecosystem.
NetApp Ethernet Advantage includes NetApp solutions from key partners such as Broadcom, Cisco, Chelsio and Intel. NetApp Ethernet Advantage provides flexibility for customers to migrate data center and prepare for the future.
Currently marketed NetApp Works Cisco Nexus 5548 Switch and will support multihop with Nexus 5000 Series Cisco, Nexus 7000 Series and MDS 9500 Series Multilayer Directors with the addition of FCoE modules. Cisco Nexus 5548P is available in the entire world while the Nexus 7000 Series and MDS 9500 Series Multilayer Directors is expected to start shipping in May 2011.
